Hamilton Astronomical Society

Hamilton Astronomical Society was formed in 1933 and is one of the oldest of New Zealand's 25 amateur astronomical societies. The prime goal is to provide the people of Hamilton and Waikato with an opportunity to learn about astronomy and to share their enthusiasm with like minded people.

We hold public nights once per month and also take group bookings. These evenings include a presentation about the night sky followed by telescope viewing (weather permitting).

For members we have an additional monthly "society night". This usually includes a specialist talk about astronomy, as well as the chance to meet and chat with amateur astronomers.
